vedawave is a genre-defying dark & gothic music project created by Birmingham, UK based multi-instrumentalist Dominic Sepulveda.

 

Lies is the latest track in a series that signals vedawave’s transition into the next era. Erupting with industrial violence and groove, it’s a further descent into his brooding universe.

Sophomore album Only Paradise Lost released on Halloween 2021 via Ezi Deth Rekords. Utilising elements from industrial & gothic metal, progressive rock and electronic music, it broadens vedawave’s diverse nature. Lyrically, themes explored include isolation, societal fatigue and mortality, experienced through the perspective of a central protagonist. Spotify’s ‘Alternative Metal’ editorial featured the title track, cementing vedawave’s place in the new wave of heavy music.

 

The project was born in 2017 with the lo-fi atmospheric waves of debut EP Soir, followed by the pastel-drenched emo of 2019’s EP Sweetheart. Debut album Leave It All Behind released in 2020 via California based label Birthdiy. It shifted the project into tenebrous depths with driving post-punk, gothic rock and dark-wave synths. Second track ‘Rip’ featured in Spotify’s ‘Lo-fi Indie’ editorial.
